It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to produce her newest gem.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven global championships have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fail again.

Whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and after that the batsman was underway.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

Once she was removed Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a global event as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
